Preparations for
the arts festival 2004
for Bristol Royal Hospital for Children has just got underway.
A host of
original and exciting activities, workshops and acts are lined up
over a four
week period – building on the huge success of last year’s
week-long event.
Festival participants have been brought together by the
Hospital’s arts co-ordinator Emma Williams.
The acts and
activities this and next week include for the first time a
Bangladeshi Music workshop by DSG
on Tuesday 30th
November 2004.
As for last
year, the arts festival has been generously supported by the
Wallace & Gromit Grand Appeal, which raises money for
equipment, arts, entertainment and other comforts for young
patients at the Hospital.
The artists will perform all over the Hospital, including at the
bedside, so that as many children as possible have the opportunity
to join in the fun. Emma Williams says,
”We are really excited about this year’s festival. The Programme
is deliberately diverse with lots of opportunities for
the children, their families, visitors and staff to have some
‘hands on’ experience.” All events are free.
Emma adds that the success of last year’s festival encourage her
to expand the Programme as well as inviting back several of the
performers who had been a hit with the children last year.
